Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know
General
What is the dress code?
Semi-formal / cocktail attire. Think elegant but comfortable — you'll be in the mountains! Layers are a good idea as mountain evenings can be cool.
When should we arrive?
Please arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony. The exact ceremony time will be communicated closer to the date.
Is parking available?
Yes! Free parking is available at Evergreen Lake House. Additional overflow parking is nearby with a short walk.
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to venue capacity, plus ones are by invitation only. Please check your invitation for details or contact us if you have questions.
Are children welcome?
We love your little ones! Some children are welcome — please check with us directly about your specific situation.
What time does the event end?
The reception will wrap up by 10pm. We'll share a detailed day-of timeline closer to the event.
Travel & Altitude
What is the altitude at Evergreen?
Evergreen Lake House sits at approximately 7,500 feet (2,286 meters). If you're coming from lower elevation, start hydrating several days before. Drink plenty of water, limit alcohol the first day, and take it easy. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, and fatigue.
What should I know about the weather?
July in Evergreen averages 75-80°F during the day and can drop to 45-55°F in the evening. Afternoon thunderstorms are common (usually 2-4pm) but pass quickly. Bring layers and a light rain jacket just in case.
Where should I stay?
We recommend booking accommodation in Evergreen, Idaho Springs, or Golden. Evergreen is closest to the venue. Denver hotels are about 45 minutes away. Book early — July is peak season in the mountains!
How do I get to Evergreen from the airport?
Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 1.5 hours from Evergreen. We recommend renting a car for the most flexibility. The drive on I-70 West is scenic and straightforward.
Is there a shuttle service?
Shuttle details are being finalized. We'll update this FAQ and notify guests once transportation plans are confirmed.
The Celebration
What is the food situation?
We're planning a meaningful buffet that honors our story — Japanese-inspired, Southern comfort, and Colorado local flavors. Vegetarian options will be plentiful. Please note any dietary restrictions on your RSVP.
Will there be an open bar?
Details about beverages will be shared closer to the event. We'll make sure everyone is well taken care of!
What's the plan for music?
Music details are being finalized. Expect a mix of live and curated playlists that reflect our eclectic taste. We'll definitely have dancing!
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask for an unplugged ceremony — please put phones and cameras away during the ceremony so everyone can be fully present. Our photographer will capture everything! Feel free to snap away during the reception.
